The Paradox of Love

Every relationship is a love-hate relationship. There is nothing called true love. There are many problems with love. We want out love to be perfect but life is full of so many imperfections. I also believe that we are never truly in love but we are in love with the idea of love and it being an idea is idealistic and not realistic. Along with it another problem with love is our desire of being loved and cared for and respected and though we want all these good things from others we fail to give it at various fronts. So next time you think of love, think about the jealousy, possessiveness, dependence, accountability and responsibility it brings and not the fairy tale endings but the compromises and the little favours. Think of a life full of sadness and poverty and it is the best story that I have ever read. It is the story titled Gift of the Magi. There is no Prince Charming, no Cinderella or Snowhite. It is the story of a poor couple who are truly in love with each other who are ready to sell their most prized possession to make their partner happy and if you are ready for those compromises and sacrifices then begim your journey of love otherwise stay away from the thorny path of disappointments.
